报告1: Dynamical Systems modeling of Neuronal Dynamics
Abstract 1:Neuron firing is closely associated with cognitive functions such as sensory processing, learning, memory, motor control, etc. In the talk, I will describe how to model neuronal dynamics and understand neuronal behaviors using dynamical systems.
报告2: Complex bursting dynamics in respiratory neuron models
Abstract 2: Systems with separated time or spatial scales arise ubiquitously in a wide variety of models of biological phenomena and often exhibit remarkably rich and complex dynamics. Studying such systems can be challenging since the associated equations are singularly perturbed. In this talk, I will illustrate our analysis on understanding the neuronal dynamics involving two or more time scales using respiratory neuron models. We apply and generalize geometric singular perturbation theory to explain the mechanisms underlying some interesting patterns of bursting dynamics involving multiple forms of activity within each cycle.
